Safe, Thorough Dentistry for Your Horse
Performed By a Veterinarian
When was the last time you looked in your horse's mouth???
A tooth like this one that is overgrown due to incorrect chewing can cause your horse pain when it grows so long that it touches the lower gum and begins to cause ulcers.
Ulcers?!
If you look on the right side of these upper teeth, you'll see some very sharp ridges. If you look on the cheek just below the teeth, you'll see the ulcers that are being formed on the cheek due to these sharp points. After an occlusal adjustment ("float") the sharp points are removed and the mucosa will heal within a few days.
