Meet Dr. Thomas

Dr. Thomas with 'The Duke'
Dr. Thomas was raised in the beautiful state of South Carolina in Gilbert. She started riding at the age of 10 and dabbled in everything from hunter/jumpers and games to endurance riding. She completed her undergraduate degree at Clemson University and then went on to get her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia.
After receiving her DVM, Dr. Thomas worked for a well-established equine practice in Conyers, GA -- host to the 1996 Olympics equestrian events. South Carolina kept calling her home, this time to Camden -- Lucknow Equine Veterinary Services was born! She is now based out of Lexington, SC but is licensed and travels to SC, NC, and GA.
Dr. Thomas currently has one horse named Duke. Before kiddos she could be found riding "The Duke" in US Eventing Association three-day events. She also currently owns a cat named Meow and a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Oberon. She is married to husband Lee and has two young boys that keep her busy!
As a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, Dr. Thomas attends yearly continuing education focusing on equine dentistry. She is also a member of her local state veterinary medical associations, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the United States Eventing Association (USEA), Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), and the American Endurance Riding Conference (AERC).
When not out and about with your horses or hers, you can probably find Dr. Thomas with her family on some body of water. In the winter she enjoys volunteering for the National Ski Patrol at Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. She has been the National Women's Program Adviser since 2017 and enjoys the opportunity to travel to teach and encourage women patrollers around the country.
